Maria Ana Bobone invites Ana Margarida Prado

I have always sung fado the way one listens.

An original by Maria Ana Bobone set to a poem by Ary dos Santos. Voice and piano.
Pre-save it to hear it the moment it is out.

Fourteen songs recorded mostly with voice and piano, with Bruno Mira on Portuguese guitar at a few moments. Real sounds come in along the way, the sea, the knife grinder, the threshing, inspired by Michel Giacometti’s recordings.
The title comes from a small Lisbon street where Maria Ana grew up. The arch is the passage between the Portugal we are ceasing to hear and the one still to come.
This album is born from what was left between the notes. The landscape sings too.
Maria Ana Bobone

She began singing fado at 16, after completing piano and voice studies at the National Conservatory of Music. Her debut album, Alma Nova, opened the way to a long career. Luz Destino and Senhora da Lapa followed, recorded for MA Recordings, where harpsichord and saxophone joined the Portuguese guitar. Nome de Mar brought recognition from the public and the press.
